PONY JUMPERS #10

Katy is about to fulfil one of her greatest ambitions — competing for New Zealand in the prestigious Youth Nations Cup in Ireland. After a disastrous start to the tour, an unexpected encounter brings her closer to international stardom than she could ever have imagined, and onto a path toward the future she has always dreamed of.

But as the day of the competition looms closer, Katy discovers that no matter how far she is from home, she can't outrun her own self-doubt, which soon starts threatening to overtake her chance at international glory.

Can Katy conquer her demons, or will she let her team — and herself — down on the world stage?

Follow the adventures of AJ, Katy, Susannah and Tess as they train and compete their ponies on New Zealand’s national show jumping circuit. Whether they have an unschooled pony and tack held together with duct tape, or a string of top-quality show jumpers, these four girls all have one thing in common - a love for the sport, and a lot of love for their ponies.

Each book in the Pony Jumper series is told from the perspective of one of the four main characters and ties into the books that have gone before. Set in New Zealand, the series incorporates information about training and riding competition ponies that will give help and guidance to readers, as well as each telling a compelling story. This is the tenth book in the series and the third from Katy’s point of view (previously #2 Double Clear and #6 Six to Ride).

The author does a great job of describing the riding and the horses, it’s clear she’s an experienced horse person. Her characters are well-rounded and realistic. They aren’t always right and don’t always win, but they always have a great story.
